The Texas Tech football team is headed to the College Football Playoff and gets a couple of weeks to sit back and rest after their dominant Big 12 Conference championship victory. The Red Raiders (12-1) earned the No. 4 seed in the CFP bracket reveal, which comes with a first-round bye for their efforts.
The Cougars have accepted an invitation to play in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, where they will face ACC foe Georgia Tech, according to a Sunday report from Brett McMurphy of On3 Sports. The news comes after McMurphy’s earlier report of Notre Dame electing to forego a bowl game entirely rather than play BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
